Real Estate Stock Photos
Do you own a real estate website, or are you wanting to build one? Or maybe you need to produce some professional-looking real estate marketing flyers, advertisements, billboards, or other signage.
You can improve your visual appeal and overall conversion rate for your marketing materials if you invest in real estate stock photos to illustrate your marketing copy. I’m a big believer in content-driven websites, especially when you want to have a website that performs well on the search engines. As a real estate SEO, I know the value of the written word. However, don’t discount the power of visual appeal when you use real estate stock images along with your copy.
Why? Well, images break up the page and make the text more readable. A big block of text can be visually intimidating and cause the eye to move down the page until it gets a break or finds something visually interesting. It’s a lot like coming up for air during a long swim. A well-placed image does exactly that for the reader and keeps them moving along reading the text.
What you may not know is that using images also gives you some excellent SEO opportunities by using image optimization. This is not hard to do with real estate stock photos. You just change the filename of your photo, add “alt” and “title” attributes to your “img” tag, and you’re on your way to using image optimization to improve your search engine rankings.
For example, if you’re optimizing for “Idaho Homes” make your file name “idaho-homes.jpg” and make sure you add title=”Idaho Homes” and alt=”Idaho Homes” to your image tag. You will also want to use the image as a link, placing ‘title=”Idaho Homes”‘ as an attribute in your anchor tag.
I’m no fan of Realtor websites that are too heavy with graphics, but there is a balance that can be achieve in order to make the site more appealing to visitors and search engines alike.
Of course, using great looking real estate stock photos also makes you look more professional. You won’t look like a low-budget rookie trying to get by on amateur photos shot from the roadside. That can make the difference between getting that lead to call you…or not.
